The approach

From Asheville
US-19/23 north to Exit 24, then NC-209 west for 11 miles of switchbacks. About 31 minutes if you drive it like a local, 45 if you drive it like a visitor.
From Hot Springs
NC-209 south, 11 miles. Cross the Spring Creek bridge and keep going — we are on the left just after it.
The turn
Look for the neon arrow, not a building. If you reach Meadow Fork Road you have gone half a mile too far; turn around at the church.
Signal
Cell service drops in the last two miles. Screenshot this, or call ahead from the bridge — one bar lives there.

Getting here

When are you open?

Supper Wednesday through Sunday, 5–10 pm. The pie counter opens at 4 pm and closes when the case is empty. We are dark Monday and Tuesday — the kitchen cures, pickles, and rests.

Where exactly are you?

On NC-209, about 25 minutes northwest of downtown Asheville, in the restored 1951 Pure Oil filling station. Look for the neon marquee arrow — if you've hit the Spring Creek bridge, you've gone a half mile too far.

Is there parking?

Yes — the original forecourt holds about thirty cars, gravel lot behind for overflow. The old gas pumps are decorative; please don't try.

Reservations

Do you take walk-ins?

We hold six counter seats and the two window deuces for walk-ins every night, first come. Everything else books through the reservations page, released 30 days out.

What's the cancellation policy?

Cancel or resize your party up to 24 hours before your seating at no charge, straight from your confirmation link. Inside 24 hours we charge $25 a seat, which we donate to the Madison County school lunch fund.

Dining

Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?

Gladly, with notice. Gluten-free and vegetarian versions exist for most of the menu (the pot pie crust is the one hill we die on). Note allergies on your reservation and the kitchen plans for you — including a vegetarian 'ancestor' plate that changes weekly.

Are kids welcome?

This is a supper house, not a hushed room — yes. There's a half-portion Bird & Waffle and a scoop of buttermilk custard for anyone under twelve. High chairs live by the old service desk.

Provisions

How do gift cards work?

Order on the provisions page in $50, $100, or $200. We mail physical ticket-stock cards within three business days, or hold one at the host stand with a note if your supper is sooner. Lost cards can be reissued from the original order number.

Do you ship pantry goods?

We ship sorghum, pepper vinegar, and dry rub anywhere in the lower 48, flat $8, free over $75. Merch ships free with any pantry order. Pie does not ship. Pie will never ship.

Events

Can we book the whole place?

The Service Bay seats 24 for private suppers; full buyouts of the house (up to 70) run Sunday through Thursday. Start with the private dining page and Dell, our events lead, will call you back within a day.

Talk to a person

Call (828) 555-0141 during service and whoever answers can fix most things — reservations, gift cards, lost cardigans, directions past the Spring Creek bridge.

For anything slower, write hello@harkandholler.example and we'll answer within two business days. Provisions order trouble? Include your order number; it starts with HH-.
